Lynne and her husband, Bob, who previously worked as County Engineer, Flood Mitigation with Clarence River County Council and as Senior Project Manager Pacific Highway upgrades, have been local residents for over 30 years. After living and working in Grafton for over 20 years they retired to Yamba.
Lynne’s professional career included positions in State Government (the Department of Planning and Natural Resources and Roads and Maritime Services) encompassing a variety of office and field roles. Her qualifications and experience include Water Resources, Native Vegetation, Hydrogeology, Compliance and Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Communications and Sanctions and Prosecutions. Lynne also holds an IT degree.
Lynne advocates strongly for her community. Over many years, she has provided submissions, petitions and deputations to council on a wide range of matters and projects, given evidence to the Land and Environment Court and presented to the Northern Regional Planning Panel in relation to unsustainable floodplain developments. In 2024 Lynne was invited to provide evidence in NSW Parliament House in Sydney to the NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into “The planning system and the impacts of climate change on the environment and communities”.
Lynne’s priority is to ensure effective community consultation and to work collaboratively as a team with the other Councillors, in the best interest of the Clarence Valley community.
