2022 Clarence Valley NAIDOC Art Competition winners announced

Dawn-Natalie Brown's artwork Connecting The Clarence was judged this year's winner of the 2022 Clarence Valley Council NAIDOC Art Competition.
"The NAIDOC Art Competition is a great opportunity to showcase the rich culture and artistic talent here in the Clarence Valley," Mayor Ian Tiley said.
We’d like to thank all 28 junior and five senior entrants for submitting their artworks, and making it very hard for our judges, Bundjalung artist Jo Walker and Gumbaynggirr Elder Aunty Jannay Daley.
Senior winners:
1st , $500 cash: Dawn-Natalie Brown (Grafton) – Connecting The Clarence

2nd, $250 cash: Bianca Monaghan (Grafton) – Knowledge

3rd, $150 cash: Krystal Randall (Townsend) – Dance

Junior winners:
1st: $70 art pack: Maisie Monaghan (Grafton) – Fairy Emu

2nd: $50 art pack: Tom King (Yamba) – River Dreaming

3rd: $30 art pack: Hunter Powers (Yamba) – Sleeping Lizard

Clarence Valley Council is a strong supporter of celebrating our First Nations community and to recognise this we fly the competition winner on a flag at the Council chambers during NAIDOC Week the following year.
Dawn's winning entry will be proudly displayed to promote the 2023 NAIDOC Week in the Clarence Valley.
Last year's winner Rebirth - by Yaegl artist Aneika Kappen - was displayed all this week.
