A new magazine demonstrating how Council is achieving the aspirations of the community as detailed in the Community Strategic Plan has hit the streets today.

Clarence Magazine is a new initiative of council that informs ratepayers and residents of the many and various projects that Council has delivered or has planned for coming months. The magazine will be produced quarterly to bring attention to projects identified in Council’s annual Operational Plan.

The magazine is available online and at Council’s customer service centre, holiday parks, Grafton Regional Art Gallery, Council libraries and Treelands Drive Community Centre. It is also being distributed to about 75 locations across the valley including some stores and cafes in smaller communities.

“We are delighted to bring you the first edition of Clarence Magazine,” Clarence Valley Council General Manager Laura Black said.

“Over the life of the magazine you’ll also meet our staff and gain an appreciation for how they contribute to delivering services to the community and we’ll tell you more about some of the important work we are doing to deliver quality services more efficiently.

“By producing a digital edition and a printed version we hope to make the magazine as accessible as possible to all.

“In this edition you can read about our infrastructure developments across the valley, the state-of-the-art waste facility looking after residents’ rubbish, our work across the region saving species such as the rock wallaby and emu, and the exciting rediscover Grafton project that will bring loads of activities and changes to Prince Street in Grafton.

“The Clarence Magazine is the place to look for information about Council’s current projects.

“We hope you enjoy flicking through the pages or if you prefer taking a look online at the digital edition.”
