Three months ago, Rachel secured a traineeship with Clarence Valley Council in her chosen field, all while achieving her academic goals with the continued support of the Council.

Just two weeks into her new role, Rachel never imagined she would be adopting a new four-legged best friend. But thanks to the team at the Clarence Valley Council Animal Shelter, Rachel and her adorable pup, Bailey, are inseparable and embracing their new life in Grafton.

“One of the perks of working at Clarence Valley Council is the opportunity for cuddles when our Animal Control team bring in dogs and cats available for adoption during their office visits.

“I instantly fell in love with Bailey and quickly went through the process to adopt her. She’s grown into such a confident and happy girl, and I’m so grateful for the chance to bring her into my life.

“Both my job and Bailey have made Grafton truly feel like home, allowing me to plant roots in this beautiful community. It’s been a refreshing lifestyle change and I’ve made so many wonderful connections, especially with the growing community at Corcoran Dog Park, where Bailey and I have been warmly welcomed.”

“I have already dived headfirst into so many fun and exciting work events, like Council’s Career Expo and the Jacaranda Festival business performance. I can’t wait to see what Grafton and Council has in store for 2025.”

The Clarence Valley Council Animal Shelter regularly promotes opportunities for adoption of companion animals of all shapes and sizes on their Facebook page. Who knows? You might find your new best friend too atwww.facebook.com/cvcpound
