The community can now reap the benefits of the Grafton Waterfront Precinct project. The $6.5 million Federal Government funded project is now open and ready ready for the public to enjoy.

The project provides improved access to the north bank of the Clarence River at Grafton with a 700m long, 3m wide shared user path meandering along the water’s edge, and plenty of shade, seating and lighting to encourage people to use the riverside landscape.

"It is very exciting to announce that the Grafton Waterfront Precinct is now open for our whole community to enjoy," Clarence Valley Council General Manager Laura Black said.

"As a significant project within the Clarence River Masterplan, it transforms the riverbank into a bustling hub of recreational activity and redefine Grafton as a river city."

Equal and universal access has been a priority of the project, with wheelchair and stair access to the riverbank at multiple locations from the top of the levee wall.
