Clarence Valley Council is calling for submissions on the Clarence Valley Open Coast Coastal Management Program (CMP) which is currently on public exhibition until Monday, 29 July 2024.

The Clarence Valley Open Coast Coastal Management Program (CMP) is a long-term strategy for the coordinated management of the Clarence Valley coastline.

Clarence Valley Council’s Senior Coast & Estuary Officer Uriah Makings said the program includes strategies and actions that that aim to protect our Valley’s 70 kilometres of pristine coastline into the future.

“The Clarence Valley Open Coast Coastal Management Program is a long-term strategy that aims to protect the values of the coastline between Shark Bay and Wooli from current and future threats.

“It is an integrated program with a large range of actions in the plan which are to be implemented by Council and other land managers over the next 10 years. Whilst this program focuses on the coastline and smaller coastal waterways we are also developing a separate CMP for the Clarence River estuary to maintain and protect the health of our largest waterway in the valley”

Public submissions are welcome on the Clarence Valley Open Coast Coastal Management Program which is currently on exhibition until 4pm, Monday 29 July 2024. Visit www.clarence.nsw.gov.au/on-exhibition to view the documents and have your say.
