Inviting EOIs for Council's Legal Services Panel 2022-26

To assist with the management of its legal services, Clarence Valley Council maintains a non-exclusive Legal Services Panel. The term of the current Panel expires 31 May 2022.
In accordance with s. 55 of the Local Government Act 1993 and using the specifications in s. 169 of the Local Government (General) Regulation 2021 , we are calling for expressions of interest (EIOs) in tenders for a refreshed Panel to be appointed from 1 June 2022 to 1 June 2026.
Council requires legal services across a range of areas, including but not limited to:
General services:
- Building & Development Control (including Land and Environment Court).
- Property management
- Commercial issues and contracts
Specific services:
- Matters generally pertaining to the Local Government Act 1993, Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, Companion Animals Act 1998, Roads Transport Act 2013, Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 and related acts
- The Native Title Act 1993 and the implications of a Native Title Determination on Local Government.
- The Crown Lands Act 1989 and the management of land in accordance with this
- Developer Contribution matters under the EPA & Water Management Act 2000
- Industrial Relations and employee related issues.
The deadline for receiving EOIs is Wednesday 13 April 2022.
