Dogs and cats should be registered at six months of age on the NSW Pet Register. Some pets may need an annual permit too.
Registering your pet can be done online or in person.
To create an account go to www.petregistry.nsw.gov.au
Your email address will be your username. Once entered click “Create my User Account" An email will be sent to your nominated email address.
An email will be sent to your nominated email address. Verify your identity as it appears on your Drivers Licence, Medicare Card or Australian Passport.
To own a cat or dog in NSW, the owner must be aged 18 years or over.
Having the correct contact details will make reuniting easier if your furry friend goes missing.
