Council's Development Control Plans (DCPs) provide detailed planning and design guidelines to support the objectives and controls in the Clarence Valley Local Environmental Plan 2011.
Council currently has five (5) DCPs that guide development to meet specific standards and encourage well designed, safe and high-quality development that positively contributes to the Clarence Valley.
It is important to regularly review DCPs to ensure that references to legislation and planning policy remain updated, and to reflect updates in building and development industry guidance, and to correct errors and/or improve clarity.
The purpose of this Housekeeping Amendment to the DCPs is to make:
- updates due to changes to legislation and correct minor errors
- targeted improvements to achieve better planning outcomes or more streamlined development assessment processes.
Council approved the draft amendments to the five (5) DPCs to be placed on public exhibition at the meeting held 20 February 2025 (item 7.31)(PDF, 1MB).
The explanatory documents “Development Control Plans Housekeeping Amendment 2025(PDF, 1MB)” details the reasons why the amendments are required, and provide detail on the DCP clauses that are being amended.
